Brian Freeman

In the fields adventure and achievement Brian Freeman is one of the most focused and motivating presenters around. His presentations combine the thrills of inspiring adventure challenges and exciting visuals with personal development material that makes his philosophies instantly appealing to both individuals and businesses. Few people are better placed to explore leadership, winning performance, risk management and team development. Drawing striking parallels between success in adventures with success at both a business and personal level Brian’s presentations are always highly praised by clients for their take-home value and sheer inspiration.
Brian’s expertise stems from his military career and unique adventure achievements, including:

  • setting the world record for the fastest over and back crossing of the Kokoda Trail in 2003 as part of a team of four
  • setting the world record in 2004 for the fastest individual and unsupported crossing of the Kokoda Trail in 24 hours and 59 minutes
  • Paddling Sea Kayaks from the tip of Cape York to PNG then completing the Kokoda Trail all in under five days
  • Brian discovered the Lost Battlefield of Kokoda
  • serving as an Australian Army Commando, including operations officer to General Peter Cosgrove when Brian was deployed on the first aircraft into East Timor in 1999 as part of the INTERFET Multinational Force, and a 20 year career with the Australian Regular Army
  • leading over 1,000 people on adventure programs which have taken him all over the globe—from Kokoda in Papua New Guinea, to Sandakan in Malaysia, to Kilimanjaro in Africa leading over 36 Kokoda expeditions with clients such as sporting greats Mal Meninga, Vicki Wilson, Chris Handy and Allan Border; federal politicians Mal Brough, Joe Hockey and Kevin Rudd; the Brisbane Lions and Hawthorn Football Clubs; and David Koch and the Seven Sunrise Team.

In 2006 Brian established Adventure35 - an exclusive member only adventure group with clients such as John Singleton, Lachlan Murdoch, Jamie Packer and Gerry Harvey.
